Fashion Revolution was founded in 2013, in the wake of the Rana Plaza disaster, a garment factory building in Bangladesh, which collapsed due to lack of safety in construction and working conditions. The accident killed 1,134 and injured more than 2,500 people, most of them young women, making it the fourth largest industrial disaster in history. Joining forces, a group of people already dissatisfied with the destructive system of fashion gathered together and gave voice to a motto question, raising the flag for transparency, and taking the first step towards where we are today: #WhoMadeMyClothes?
Today FR is present in approximately 70 countries, promoting awareness, debate and creating bridges and connections for the revolution i the fashion industry
We are designers, academics, writers, business leaders, policymakers, brands, retailers, marketers, producers, makers, workers and fashion lovers. We are the industry and we are the public. We are world citizens. We are you. We are Fashion Revolution.
